Discipleship : If you are looking for help this is your
Answer!
Discipleship : If you are looking for help this
is your Answer!
So you've read the "Purpose Driven Life", now let us show you how to live it.
Firm foundations Discipleship class meets Monday nights at 8:00 at the
Jesus Centre. Taught by John Dethlefs (below
with his son Eric), John is an
ordained minister who has been in the mission field over 7 years
traveled
throughout America and the world preaching and teaching the Good News
of Jesus Christ. This is an interactive
bible study not a lecture or
being told what to believe but a true bible
study where questions and discussions
are the norm.
Cost of the first work book "Firm Foundations" is $10 . You only have
to purchase the book if you want to continue
with the study, or you can
purchase one and do it at home. It will
not be as fun but you can. If you
truly cannot afford the workbook one will be
given to you.
What makes us different from other bible studies you ask?
The biggest thing is we not only encourage you to apply what you learn
we invite you to watch us and then participate
in it as well. You'll have
an opportunity to serve in evangelism, teaching,
and serving in any
capacity that God has called you to. We don't
equip you to do our ministry; we
equip you to do yours! If you don't know what
that is, that's ok too! Just
serve in any capacity the Lord opens up for you
and He will guide you into your
calling. Secondly we totally believe that you must walk by the spirit
to be effective. There are times to give a
rebuke and times to simply love.
You need discernment to know what to do and that
only comes through dieing
to self and being broken enough to allow the
Holy Spirit to lead you.
We believe the Bible to be the Holy divinely inspired word of God.
This is the basis for all learning and
discernment. We do recommend some
additional reading to assist you on your
journey. Additional reading we recommend:

Just a note:
If you do not believe
these truths; historical Christianity would say that you are not saved.
Many ways of thinking have come into the church but these few truths stand
over the history of the Christian faith as a test of true believers. But
just believing these things does not save you even the devil knows these are
truth! It is when we submit our lives into His hands that we follow
Christ. Evidence of salvation is not :do you go to church, do you pray,
do you do good works, do you not do things you know are bad. Evidences
of salvation is Fruit:
Galatians 5: 22.23. But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self-control; against such things there is no law.
It is in our lives that
we show our faith. Do you live a life of stress or peace? Do you
live a life of positive confession or negative confession? Do you live
selfish or selfless? Do you work at being a Christian or are you one?
Do you do good because you have to or because you get to? Are you in
Passionately love with Jesus?
A few helpful things:
Get in a Fellowship of Believers
Read the Word, (which bible is the best? The one you
will read!)
Pray ask God for help
Humble yourself
Forgive yourself !!!!!!!!
Change
Change
Change
It never stops and it never gets easier!
But God is merciful and forgiving
